	Sedation Options & Anxiety Control In addition to the use of traditional local anesthetic, our board certified periodontists, Dr. Crossetti & Dr. Silc, offer the option of intravenous conscious sedation to enhance your dental experience. Our patients that elect sedation tell us that it is the most wonderful dental experience that they have had as they have little or no memory of the shots or the procedure they undergo. Conscious sedation is a safe, drug-induced state in which you are conscious and pleasantly relaxed, yet free of fear, anxiety and apprehension. Many patients have no memory of their dental appointment and the pain usually associated with dental work is eliminated. Our doctors are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and have performed sedation on thousands of patients. Conscious sedation is different from general anesthesia, with much less risk, while being extremely effective. The Office of Dr. Crossetti & Dr. Silc also offers oral sedation as well as nitrous oxide gas to help our patients overcome anxiety and make treatment more pleasant and comfortable.
